Important Information:

United Way's third annual Go All IN day is shaping up to be even bigger than last year. More corporate involvement, more volunteer interest, more organizations setting up June 21st projects to take advantage of some extra helping hands -- and in some cases, some real sweat equity!

Volunteers will be recruited and tracked through volunteercentralindiana.org. We want to attract as many volunteers to your project as possible. Please complete the following form so we can get your project in the system and start recruiting volunteers to your project!

A couple of fun facts about Go All IN Day and this resource:
  • More than 1,400 volunteers participated in 2023
  • Since United Way launched the site in May of 2020 (when virtual was really the only option for volunteer opportunities), we've registered over 4,000 contacts on the website.
  • There are over 300 local nonprofits posting volunteer needs and events throughout the year.
  • 32% of our volunteers are ages 25-39
VolunteerCentralIndiana.org is the primary tool for Go All IN day registrations and attendance, but we like to point out that it's also a free resource for your nonprofit that you can use for year-round volunteer recruitment, engagement, and scheduling.

Some tips on getting your project noticed:

Snappy Title - Keep it short. Past project titles that got noticed: Snack Packs for Veterans, Make Children's Masks for Neighborhood Center, Plant a Victory Garden

Introductions - This may be a potential volunteer's first exposure to your org. Share a short blurb about your agency and mission. Many are driven by the mission rather than the actual project.

Expectations - Lay out the tasks that need to be completed and the various roles volunteers may play in completing the project. If you need people to do a minimum of two hours to really make a dent, it's best to be upfront about that. If it's going to be dirty, tell them to wear old clothes. If you need some people with a special skill, list it!

Benefits - How does the completion of this project help your organization and those you serve? This gives the volunteer an anticipated sense of accomplishment.

Pictures - Images turn a boring page of text into something people stay and read. Use the attachment feature at the bottom of this page to add some color to your posting.
